BUSH (2018)
This work was part of a group show curated by Matthew Kyba at Modern Fuel, Kingston, Canada. It is one iteration of a multi-year project started in 2014 during a Canada Council London Residency, where I photographed an English Laurel in Regents Park and later used the photographs of leaves as brushstrokes for collages. Here two handmade collages are shown with a digital collage that is made at a perspective so that the rectangle is seen as flat only when observed from an angle. This piece stems from the 2015 show, Beating the Bush, and evolved into a public art project, Reorganization of One Hedge, for the subway system in Toronto installed in 2023.
