-- BIRDS The bird drawings are made through a process of directed apophenia. Paint is dripped into a piece of paper, allowed to dry, pucker, crack, and then I proceed to find as many birds in the resulting splatters as I can. At the time I was reading Witold Gombrowicz's Kosmos and the figure of the bird hung by its neck on a tree branch stuck with me. Additionally, the splatters of paint made me think of bird shit, so I went with it. -- |
