SERIES FIVE
Because the lines in the other, with the addition of cuts and collaged elements, started to become three dimensional, I wanted to emulate this three-dimensionality through the drawing itself. I had started adding graphite to the ink drawings but that wasn't satisfying. Instead, on the side, I started creating line with my eraser. While I would cut into the other drawings to make them collages, here I would "cut" into the graphite with an eraser. Here the lines themselves are the focus. They have loosened themselves from their initial subject matter.
