MODEL FOR DRAWING AND FRAME (2023)
Model for Drawing and Frame is a line drawing that has been taken apart and reframed. The wooden structure is literally the frame, the metal and cut PVC-material are the lines that are to be framed. Three dimensionally, they have a different relationship to one another that will change according to the viewer’s perspective. This is not a 3-D drawing, as much as a graphic manipulation of three-dimensional space. The sculpture is intended to render perspective explicit, as well as articulate two dimensions in a sculptural language. I think reality is perspectival in an ontological capacity, though I am not an idealist nor am I a relativist. This work, and others like it, are like a metaphysics of drawing (or looking).
